Jeddah is an ancient town which reflects the culture of the city and the history of this city is almost 2,500 years old.  Location is very famous among the Muslim pilgrims as this is the gateway to Holy cities which are Mecca and Madina. Sightseeing offered by Jeddah is the main attraction for tourists as this city offers many spots where you can visit and have fun. Eve Cave is another attraction in the city of Jeddah.

Jeddah has derived its name from the cave of Eve which is considered as the amazing tourist point which many people come to visit from all over the world.  Jeddah is an Arabic name, due to the located of this city which lies close to the Red Sea the name is derived from there which means  ‘matriarch'  which is being the resting place of Eve, who was created by God and she was the first lady who came on the earth at the city of Jeddah. According to the Arabic legends when God has created Adam and Eve then he sent Adam on the land of Sri Lanka and Eve landed at the coast of the Red Sea. And later on after they died, Adam was buried in Mecca while Eve was buried in the city of Jeddah. From there on the Eve Cave in Jeddah has given a unique importance and has become one of the attractions found in Jeddah.

Many historians are discussing the actual spot of Eve Cave but due to the beliefs of many pilgrims and visitors who bring them to this place. Eve Cave was then sealed after 1975 when a sudden growth was seen in number of Muslim pilgrims’ starts visiting the place. Most of the people started to pray the Tomb and this was the reason this Eve Cave was sealed as this act was against Islamic traditions to pray at the Tomb of Eve.
